This appears to be a regression in XSD. I have fixed it for the next
release. Thanks for the report!

I am travelling at the moment and unfortunately won't be able to
build you a pre-release binary with the fix until the 15th (building
a portable binary requires a special setup which I cannot access
right now).

However, I can provide you with the patch which you can apply to the
xsd-3.3.0+dep source code and build the binary yourself. I assume you
are on Linux. If that's the case, then the process will be fairly
straightforward. Let me know if you would like to go this route.
