That's hard to say. First we would have to make the final release on our
side (we are making progress but are still not there yet). Then it will be
up to Canonical (first, probably Debian) to pick up the release and package
it.

I think if you need ODB in the official Ubuntu repositories, then your
best bet is to stick with 2.4.0 and try to get Canonical to fix[1] their
package (for example, by investigating the issue and comming up with a
solution).
