I get exactly the same error if I try to use Xerces-C++ built using
VC++ 7.1 (aka Visual Studio .NET 2003) with an application built using
VC++ 8 (aka Visual Studio 2005). So please make sure you use

xerces-c-2.7.0-i686-windows-vc-8.0-rtti.zip
